I get it. Life is hectic! Most days you don’t have time to think, you’re just chasing after your tail and avoiding doing a wee coz who got time for that? I’d like to challenge this thinking and say that you have time for self-care and relieving your bladder. Don’t believe me? Well, here are 5 quick mindfulness activities that you can do during the day!
- Take 3 deep breathes!
Stress and chaos tend to leave us holding in our breaths and very rarely do we take deep breaths and pay attention to our lungs. 3 deep breaths in and out is a beautiful gift for our lungs!
- Pay attention to your senses
You can try this when you’re riding public transport, doing the housework, hanging washing, walking anywhere! This is quick and powerful to get you back into the present instead of your mind sitting back in the past or worrying about the future:
- 5 things you can see.
- 4 things you can feel.
- 3 things you can hear.
- 2 things you can smell.
- 1 thing you can taste.
- Touch the dirt
Do some grounding. I love this one! I train at the park every morning and I love that we do it out in nature. Take off your shoes or just sit on the ground and feel the earth. Grounding is such a powerful tool for mindfulness!
- 1 Minute Meditation
Sometimes we feel like we don’t have 5 minutes to stop, but we ALL have 1 minute somewhere spare in the day to meditate. Here is a link to a 1 minute meditation video to follow along to help. 1 minute may not seem like a lot but it is proven to relax the nervous system and aid in relieving anxiety and tension.
The art of self-care doesn’t have to be grand or take up so much time. Our lives are busy so we need to sprinkle some self-care on ourselves where we can. Remember, self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity and we all deserve to practice it. I hope these 5 quick mindfulness activities have given you inspiration and motivation to start including them in your busy life.
