2023 was a WILD year! We are still 5 days out from bringing in the new year so here are 23 lessons that I’ve learnt in 2023.
- You can’t bury your pain forever
- Pain must be felt first – before you rationalize and reflect.
- The body remembers what the mind tries to hide.
- FEEL IT … Feel ALL of it.
- Your feelings of anger are just that – feelings. they are not good or bad.
- Vulnerblity frightens me – but it also heals me.
- I am allowed to feel my feelings – I am not a burden when I feel them.
- Creativity is my anchor and my tool – it always helps me out of the darkness.
- Some days I am NOT okay – and that is okay.
- I don’t have to be ON 24/7.
- Boundaries are healthy and needed – it does not make me a mean person.
- Motherhood is hard when grief waves come – but every day I make it through.
- I am a wonderful mother, and it’s okay to give myself grace when it’s hard.
- I’m not all together – yet.
- I am a work in progress.
- Go at your own pace – not someone elses.
- Do that workout – dont wait to feel like it because you know that never happens.
- Go for a jog – you’ll surprise yourself at how far you can go.
- See – truly see the beauty in the mundane. There are pockets of golden treasures to witness.
- When you’ve lost it all – HOPE and FAITH is all you need.
- Make each moment count – you don’t know what’s around the corner.
- Be present, truly present with your family – you won’t regret it.
- Marriage is a team effort and I’m definitely on the winning team <3
I have counted 23 lessons that I’ve learnt in 2023 but I’m sure there are more. This year was quite the adventure physically, spiritually and emotionally, and I am grateful to step into the new year with more wisdom and self-awareness and self-compassion than I had previously.
What have you learnt in 2023?
In love and light
