23 Lessons That I’ve Learnt In 2023

2023 was a WILD year! We are still 5 days out from bringing in the new year so here are 23 lessons that I’ve learnt in 2023.

  1. You can’t bury your pain forever
  2. Pain must be felt first – before you rationalize and reflect.
  3. The body remembers what the mind tries to hide.
  4. FEEL IT … Feel ALL of it.
  5. Your feelings of anger are just that – feelings. they are not good or bad.
  6. Vulnerblity frightens me – but it also heals me.
  7. I am allowed to feel my feelings – I am not a burden when I feel them.
  8. Creativity is my anchor and my tool – it always helps me out of the darkness.
  9. Some days I am NOT okay – and that is okay.
  10. I don’t have to be ON 24/7.
  11. Boundaries are healthy and needed – it does not make me a mean person.
  12. Motherhood is hard when grief waves come – but every day I make it through.
  13. I am a wonderful mother, and it’s okay to give myself grace when it’s hard.
  14. I’m not all together – yet.
  15. I am a work in progress.
  16. Go at your own pace – not someone elses.
  17. Do that workout – dont wait to feel like it because you know that never happens.
  18. Go for a jog – you’ll surprise yourself at how far you can go.
  19. See – truly see the beauty in the mundane. There are pockets of golden treasures to witness.
  20. When you’ve lost it all – HOPE and FAITH is all you need.
  21. Make each moment count – you don’t know what’s around the corner.
  22. Be present, truly present with your family – you won’t regret it.
  23. Marriage is a team effort and I’m definitely on the winning team <3

I have counted 23 lessons that I’ve learnt in 2023 but I’m sure there are more. This year was quite the adventure physically, spiritually and emotionally, and I am grateful to step into the new year with more wisdom and self-awareness and self-compassion than I had previously.

What have you learnt in 2023?

In love and light
